One-to-One Family Information

How often does befriending take place?

Befriending outings usually take place either once per week or once per fortnight.

How long to these outings last?

Outings generally last for approximately 2-3 hours but can sometimes be longer or shorter depending on the activity.

What activities are participated In?

Various activities can be participated in.  Usually activities are based on the young person and the volunteer befrienders interests and hobbies.

Some activities that can be participated in are:

  • Cinema
  • Bowling
  • Ice-Skating
  • Swimming
  • Soccer
  • Museum Trips
  • Trips to Play Parks
  • Trips to Local Places of Interest

Who are these Volunteer Befrienders?

Volunteer befrienders are a team of carefully recruited adults (18+) who want to help local children and young people by offering them friendship and support.

The safety of all children and young people is paramount to the project and all befrienders are reference checked, disclosure checked and must attend our preparation course before they can befriend.

How much does this service cost?

One-to-One Befriending is a free service so families need not worry about the cost.
